Let's just hope the good Heatley shows up in Minnesota Wild and not the whiny one who forced the Thrashers and Senators to trade him away (And whined enough to scuttle the attempted trade to the Oilers by the Sens.). "The Wreck" will always be remembered here in Atlanta because of the classless way he insulted the fans here that supported him throughout the aftermath of the wreck as he left town and that fact that he did not even serve any of his community service in Atlanta. I understood why fans in Atlanta booed him when he returned to play against the Thrashers, but I couldn't condone it, as it was classless. I can also understand why he wanted out, but he did so in a manner that was practically repeated several years later in Ottawa. He would have sat out the 2005-06 season had he not been traded. For MLB Jerseys, I think this trade was more about getting rid of Havlat than acquiring Heatley. It's noted that Havlat was dissatisfied with his role with the Wild last year, to the point of getting his agent to publicly lobby for more playing time. Granted, there's a new coaching staff in place, but I can't believe the Minny organization was happy with the prospect of another 4 years of disgruntlement. They found a willing partner in San Jose, so they pulled the trigger; getting a potential offensive boost from Heatley would be gravy. I'm really sad to see Havlat go, but hes a deadly playmaker going to a team full of snipers. While Heatley is a hell of a shooter coming to a team full of playmakers. This is definetly an even trade and I think will make both players happy next year.
