Invent a new retro jersey

Being from Pittsburgh, I am sort of disapointed with the logo choice. We used basiclly the same thing last winter classic. This was a perfect chance to have a tribute to the Pens old glory days with black and gold. There is alot of history here to chose from, and we decide to do something very identical to what we did before. This was a bad call by the pens. Hopefully they will put the logo the front of a Baseball Jerseys and try to salvage something. Tons of people here wanted black and gold, were getting tired of the blue . The capitals were almost expected to chose that logo, hopefully they can do something cool with the NHL Jerseys. The logo is very well done. Looks great! And teams do not have to use the same jersey as before! Hopefully a team can get creative and take history from another era and use it in a jersey. Like the Pens stanley cup jerseys in Dark blue, light blue and white. The Pens current thirds are very intresting from a fan and marketing view. The Wholesale Jerseys are one of the best selling jerseys in the last few years, but most hockey fans seem to hate them. It would almost seem that fans who are not really into hockey really like them while other real fans hate do not like them at all. I am guilty of having one, I like them and liked seeing them be worn, but I am getting tired of non penguin fans saying that they should be their home jerseys. It was time for a change, but it doesn't look like we will get that with the new WC unis. Hopefully this years will not become the new thirds like we are expecting. "I would love to see the ducks&kings play at the coliseum or the rosebowl. The kings could wear either yellow or purpleMLB Jerseys & it would give the ducks a chance to invent a new "retro" jersey" "Yes that would be wonderful. Although it may be a BIT tricky to have an outdoor ice hockey game in southern California where on average the temperature would be 20 C and it would take place at 10 o'clock eastern time." The temperature wouldn't be the problem but the Rose Bowl would automatically be out of the running due to The Granddaddy of Them All. The Coliseum would be a good choice but I don't see a Kings-Ducks matchup happening,I think that if you want to make the Classic hockey Jerseys you would need a good Western-Eastern conference game to bring in east coast viewers.

Winter Classic uniforms is very representative of Pittsburgh

Winter Classic logo is very representative of Pittsburgh and looks even better than I thought from the sneak peek we all had. At a press conference this afternoon, the NHL unveiled the logo for the 2011 Jerseys along with the retro logos to be used by the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins. The outdoor game will take place on New Year's Day at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. The logos were revealed on giant digital screens at the football stadium, which is normally home to the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers. Unlike past Winter Classic logos, which have typically used a neutral color palette, the 2011 mark seems to feature only the colors likely to be found on the Penguins' Winter Classic throwback uniforms. To be fair, though, these are the colors most associated with the city of Pittsburgh itself. And based on the news conference, it seems everyone in Pittsburgh is very excited to be playing in the NHL's most publicized regular season game for the second time since 2008 — though this is Crosby & Co.'s first time hosting. A staple of the Winter Classic since its inception has been retro logos and uniforms. Every team involved has looked into its past for something special to wear. This year will be no exception. The Pittsburgh Penguins Jerseys will call back to their inaugural season, 1967-68 — for the logo at least. The uniforms won't be revealed for either team until the fall. The mark features the original skating penguin wearing a scarf, all set on a "vintage" white. The use of this logo suggests the Penguins will also wear their inaugural uniforms, which were light blue with PITTSBURGH in diagonal text across the front. Again, we'll have to wait for the fall, but this is probably a fair assumption. The Buffalo Sabres Jerseys will also look back to their inaugural season, 1974-75. The logo is the original script mark used from the team's inception until 1996. The Caps' current logo, in use since 2007, is call back to this mark. With the expection of the first Winter Classic in 2008, the host team typically wears the dark uniforms, with the visitors in white — as is standard in the regular season these days. That means the Capitals will likely wear their original white sweaters. Of course talk about Winter Classic uniforms is speculative and premature, it's easy to make educated guesses based on history. I'd really be surprised if we get anything different — though I was definitely surprised by the Bruins last year! The Capitals will officially unveil their Winter Classic uniforms on Oct. 2 at the Capitals Convention. The Penguins have said theirs will also be unveiled some time in the fall — no specific date just yet. You can read more about today's event at 2010nfl.net. Wondering what the MLB Jerseys will look like for Pittsburgh considering that the Penguins logo shown was never used on a jersey, only pucks and letterhead. I think that the white jerseys that were used that 1967-68 season would look good, as long as they add the scarf wearing skating penguins logo to the shoulders. For the Capitals I would use the 1974-75 jersey as seen here since it is their inaugural season jersey, but incorporate a nameplate which is now required. This would put both teams in their inaugural seasonBaseball Jerseys.

Kansas City will get a team

The Islanders should probably move to Queens. They can still be the New York Islanders Jerseys there. And then the Devils can join the Nets in Brooklynn and become the New York Americans. Attendance numbers are pretty sad for New NHL Jerseys consdering the success they've had. Sure they play a boring style, but still. At least in Brooklynn they'd still be close enough for fans in Newark to continue seeing the games, but they'd be more accessible to the rest of the NY metro area. Will is right; the Islanders make a ton of cash from Cablevision, yes the group that owns the Rangers. The Town of Hempstead is pull a very Robert Moses move in trying to force Charles Wang (Isles owner) to accept there proposed Lighthouse project. Being a Long Islander, traffic be damned. The area is a wasteland and the Lighthouse project will build new energy in the area. As far as Brooklyn goes, I doubt that will happen due to the fact that the new area being built would not meet the Baseball Jerseys guidelines in terms of width. There is a tight footprint to work on there. Good luck K.C. for as far as I know, in the two of exibition games held there the past few years, neither were close to selling out. In any case the Islanders can't move until 2015. There is an iron clad lease currently in place where that if broken, Wang could face jail time. Is K.C. ready to wait that long? All I kow is if the Town of Hempstead does not work this out (and it had been a 10 year delay on there part), Suffolk County would be more than happy to take them. Also next to CitiField would be the next option. If you want to relocate teams get move Pheonix, Atlanta, and one of the Florida teams. Let's put this to bed now. The Isles will not move for 1 reason alone...they have the best tv contract in MLB Jerseys. They signed a 50 year deal in 1981. This year I belive they got over 20 million. In year 2031 they will get 36 mil. Look it up if you don't belive me. I didn't belive I at first myself. But it's true. There is more money to be made being the third most popular team in the ny metro area than the only team in kc. Any rumors are by writers who don't know what they are talking about. One thing for sure this team will be in the ny area until 2031.

Standard road jersey

The dome opens fully actually. If you've ever been there you can clearly see that the whole field is open. It even states on the rogers centre website that with the roof open 100% of the field and 95% or something close to that of the seats are open to the sky. Check out this link to see a great pic of the roof open. It would be even better with the Argonauts football setup where the field somehow spins and the seats have a more classic rectangle view. For those who don't speak Tweet, I'll translate: The Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens and the NHL Jerseys will hold a news conference regarding the 2011 Heritage Classic on August 4 at McMahon Stadium at 3 PM (Mountain Time). That's 5 PM for those of us on the east coast, 2 if you find yourself near the Pacific. That's really the only official source I can cite, not that there's any reason to doubt it. I've added the date to the calendar and I'll be keeping an eye out for further details. One would assume this press conference will be a lot like the Winter Classic event earlier this week. We'll likely get a look at how the rink will be positioned in the football stadium and possibly retro logos, if any will be used. And just like the W.C., we'll probably have to wait on the Jerseys. Last month, Flames president Ken King said the team would have a specially-designed sweater for the event. And despite having a decent arsenal of throwbacks stemming from their 100th anniversary celebrations, if I know the Canadiens, they'll probably just wear their standard road jersey. you know what i mean. There are plenty of great rivalries amongst the canadian teams, and just because they played in the playoffs against eachother doesn't mean there is some huge battle every time these teams play. For example, the carolina hurricanes played the oilers in the cup finals in 2002, and the red Wholesale Jerseys wings in 2006. If these games were in the heritage classic, it would be boring. The leafs/habs rivaly has been going on for 93 years. the leafs/sens rivalry has been going on for the almost 20 year existence of the sens. the habs/flames rivalry has been going on for 2 playoffs series' in the 80s.

Bad color scheme

The Whalers 90s style or the Whaler-colored Habs style are the better of those Everblades' NHL Jerseys. I'm not so impressed with the Swift pattern or the 09-10 set, although the 09-10s are better-looking than the Swifts. It's the History of the Everblades Jerseys — not that it's a very long one. The Blades hit the ice in 1998 and only changed their uniform once in their first decade, after a run to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2004. They wore special 10th anniversary sweaters throughout the 2007-08 season, my first year living in Southwest Florida. Since then, I haven't seen this team wear the same uniform for more than a single season. So it makes me wonder whether they'll bring back last season's sweaters for 2010-11 or come up with something new again and end up expanding this poster. I guess I'll let you know in October. In case you missed the mention on Twitter this week, the ahl's syracuse crunch unveiled their new uniforms for 2010-11 on Thursday. They now feature the team's new colors — those of their NHL parent club, the Anaheim Ducks. The Crunch were previously linked up with the Blue Jackets and as such, wore their colors. This season they'll be orange, bronze and black. And the sweaters are pretty sharp, considering. All right, in all fairness I never thought the Ducks had a bad color scheme, just a bad logo. Which brings me to the shoulder patch on the new Wholesale Jerseys. It's just further evidence the webbed "D" is awesome on its own. No one likes the "ucks" part anyway. Disney's out of the picture — no more "Mighty" — we get it! Hopefully this is something the Ducks have realized and will take advantage of this season when they launch their new third MLB Jerseys. Of course, it would also be nice to see an entirely new logo that a little more... ducky? If you're craving more pictures of the new sweaters — including a juxtaposition with the Ducks' threads — and the ladies who modeled them, take a trip to the Crunch's Facebook page. I always try to support the farm teams. With the Crunch Monkey logo, I just can't do it. One of the worst logos in all of hockey. Reminds me of that damn gorilla that plays the piano at Showbiz that I had nightmares about as a child. Come on Syracuse...time for something new.

Leaked the new Leafs sweater

Who knows how long the delay of the Toronto Blue Jays Jersey will drag on, but I'm sure there will be a Winnipeg Jets logo as well as jersey unlock code in the upcoming EA Sports NHL 12 video game. The middle of July is usually the time of year EA sends the game off for production. Like many fans out there, I really can't wait to see what the Winnipeg Jets logo and jerseys will look like. The Toronto Maple Leafs jerseys will get a new third jersey next season and that's become a hot topic again. It's been reported in each edition of NHL Jersey Watch 2011 that the Leafs will replace their current white alternate sweater with a new one. But like the old one, it will borrow from the club's past. Howard Berger, who covered the Leafs for FAN 590 in Toronto until last month, wrote about it Thursday on his new blog, Berger Bytes. (Hm, clever.) He said it "will look very much like the jersey the club wore at Maple Leaf Gardens on May 2, 1967 — the night it last hoisted the Stanley Cup." In other words, like this concept (right) created by Jeff Veilette of LeafsHQ in April 2010. You'll notice the distinct watermark. However, despite this, I've been getting tweets and emails telling me Berger leaked the new Leafs sweater. He hasn't. Don't get me wrong, I fully trust that this design or something similar will basically be what the new third Baseball Jerseys looks like, but don't be confused in thinking that this is an actual photograph of it. It isn't. For a little background, Berger was a helpful in providing early details of the first Reebok Edge third NHL Jerseys designs back in 2008. While some of his descriptions were slightly inaccurate — which can be attributed to the low quality images he was describing — he was mostly on the money. Personally, I was hoping the Leafs would go with the 1970s/1980s look for the new third and, admittedly, my reporting was slanted because of that. But most of the trustworthy rumors I've read have said this 1967 design will be the one. Not that that's a bad thing. We get to bring an old logo back from the dead. While there may be critics, especially on this site, of the Leafs using their '67 sweaters, I genuinely believe that it will be well received by Leaf fans. Nostalgia is a powerful force, especially if there is a story behind it. Consider the CFL, each team has a set of alternative "Retro Week" Jerseys that are essentially the same as their modern day counterpart, but sport a simplified, unpolished look, and I love it. Toronto may be on the same route, and I see it as a great experiment.
